Students who study in higher education institutions that are not members of the Poznan Foundation of Scientific Libraries, upper secondary school students and all people of age. Registration can be done at the Information Desk in the main lobby of the Library. See fees.

Yes, Poznań University Library provides an online registration with the library. To get a temporary library card number, giving you instant access to a library account, through our Online Registration process, click “Sing in or register” in Catalogue online.

In the electronic catalogue on the site or, alternatively, on the Internet at http://lib.amu.edu.pl/ – select My Account, then type in the numer of your library card and the PIN number. The PIN number (4 digits) is the following format: your date of birth – MMDD (for example 1130 for somebody born on Nov. 30) . It is recommended to change your PIN number to one of your own (again a four-digit number). To do it, go to “User’s Data”. To log in, foreigners working or studying at AMU have to give the following data: the number of the library card and the PIN number.

No, the on-line catalogue includes all titles accessed since 1999 plus about 20% of the remaining part of the collection. The work on automation of the whole of the catalogue are still going on, thus it is advisable to also check the DIGIT CARDS .

Material from the stacks can be ordered via the Catalogue on-line at:
selecting a particular copy (Option: Details) and clicking on “Order” (Zamów). Alternatively, you can also fill in the white borrower’s slip and leave it with the assistant in the catalogue room, (Room 140). Orders placed through the electronic catalogue are carried out within one hour a day, whereas through the card catalogue within one a day. Ordered material can be collected in the Circulation Department, available for 7 days.

Papers and journals, books published before 1970 r. (research workers have the privilege to take books on loan published 100 earlier from the current date), valuable and rare material, books from the reference library.

Journals from the stacks are ordered with two-part borrower’s slips. Shelf numbers to be checked In the catalogue have to be given. Filled-in borrower’s slips can be placed in the box at the library assistant desk in the reading room. Each reading room has a different kind of borrower’s slips.

Orders to the stacks are carried out every half an hour from Monday to Friday, and every hour on Saturday. Ordered material is left intact for 3 days. It can be reserved for two weeks.

Copies of master’s degree theses are general deposited in faculty and departmental libraries. Doctoral dissertations can be made available in reading rooms though no photocopying of particular sections is permitted.

Taking out materials to be copied outside the Library is strictly forbidden.

In that case the head of the Loan Department can determine what book should be returned as a compensation.

When a book is overdue. The penalty fee is 0.30 zł for one day of delay for one item.

With the help of on-line catalogues on the Net one should locate the library possessing a given book or periodical and then fill in a borrower’s slip and place the order with the Interlibrary loan section.
